Day 01: You will be picked from Nairobi hotel or airport on arrival and drive to Aberdare National Park. You will have an early lunch in Nyeri town. Your driver guide will drive you up to reedbuck campsite where you will also have an armed ranger. You can also decide to trek through high moorlands through thickets of St. John’s Wort and Rosewood Glades. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure.
Meals and overnight: Reedbuck Campsite.
Day 02: A full day Guided walk along the Kiandongoro Nature Trail as you enjoy the scenic Aberdare National Park. Visit the thunderous Karuru and Chania waterfalls. Karuru waterfalls drop down 273 metres as you have brief stopovers for bird watching and wildlife
Meals and overnight: Reedbuck Campsite
Day 03: After breakfast, start a 5-6 hours hike through a track dotted with giant heather, tussock grass, open forest glades and rose wood to arrive at Honi River. The hike offers opportunities to encounter with buffaloes, elephant and many antelopes. Picnic lunch is served en route.
Meals and overnight: Cinema Campsite.
Day 04: Leisurely walk after breakfast through forest and moorland on the way up the Road head, then to the mouth of Honi River. The walk takes 4-5 hours and will allow adequate acclimatization in preparation for the following day summit hike
Meals and overnight: Fire Looking Point Campsite.
Day 05: This is the summit day which start early for the summit; Satima peak. The walk takes 2 – 3 hour to arrive in time for an African dawn. On clear day there is an opportunity to observe Mt. Kenya and Mt. Kilimanjaro on the horizon and even the surrounding vicinity of Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and the Ol Daiga hills. You will have tea at the summit before descending to connect with your driver and vehicle at the road head for a transfer back to Nairobi. You will have lunch in Nyeri town. On arrival in Nairobi, you will be dropped off at the pickup point or the airport.
