03 Days Serengeti Safari at Mbuzi Mawe Tented Camp

  • Day 1: Flight Arusha to Serengeti

    After breakfast, pick up from your hotel in Arusha town and transfer to the Arusha Airport for flight to Serengeti. Flight takes about hours. On arrival at the Seronera airstrip, you are met by our representative and a lodge vehicle. With a brief game drive, you head for the lodge for check in. Lunch is served at Mbuzi Mawe Tented Camp.

    Unlike any other camp, Mbuzi Mawe Tented Camp lies at the epicenter of the Serengeti within easy reach of the prime wildlife theatres of Lobo, the Western Corridor of the Grumeti River, the southern grass plains, the Seronera Valley and the kopjes, or inselbergs, of Barafu, Gol, Maasai, Loliondo, Simba and Moru.

    A ringside seat for ‘the greatest show on earth’ Cleverly located on one of the main annual migration corridors for over one million wildebeest, half a million zebras and gazelles, and their accompanying cast of predators, the camp enjoys a ringside seat for one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on earth.

    Scenically located in a glade guarded by 3 million year old granite towers, Mbuzi Mawe (meaning Klipspringer in English) makes maximum use of its unique wilderness location. There are al fresco breakfasts, safari luncheons, lantern-lit bush suppers, campfire roasts, and dance displays by the Ikoma people as well as game drives, ranger-led bush walks, ornithology and sightings of: elephant, lion, cheetah, leopard, buffalo, hyena, wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, warthog, hippo and crocodile.

    At 1630 hours, proceed on a game drive in the expansive Serengeti plains. At sundown, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Mbuzi Mawe Tented Camp.

    Day 2: Day in Serengeti

    Early morning game drive beginning at 0630 hours till around 0830 hours when you return to the lodge for breakfast. Further game drive in the park till lunch time. Rest till 1630 hours time for evening game drive till sunset.

    The Serengeti National park is a arguably the best known wildlife sanctuary in the world with over 3 million large mammals. About 35 species of plains animals can be seen there including the “big 5” – Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Leopard and Buffalo. Other common species found here includes hippo, giraffe, eland, impala and other antelope types, baboons, monkey and a profusion of over 500 species of birds.

    The Serengeti is also famous for its 500 species of birdlife, both migrant and resident, and the black and white colobus monkey.  Dinner and overnight at Mbuzi Mawe Tented Camp.

    Day 3: Flight Serengeti to Arusha

    Early morning game drive followed by breakfast. After breakfast, transfer to Seronera airstrip for the flight back to Arusha. On arrival, pick up and transfer either to your hotel or to Kilimanjaro airport.
