CAMPS AND LODGES IN SAMBURU
SAMBURU SERENA LODGE:
The lodge is situated at the banks of Ewaso
Nyiro and right in the centre of Samburu National Reserve. The
lodge is well designed that it enables one to view the horizon
of the Mt. Kenya as it looms.
Samburu Serena lodge was inspired by the
indigenous Samburu tribe. It therefore blends together with its
natural environment by making full use of its native materials.
The roofs of the cabins are built using exotic African woods
creating a relaxing atmosphere.
All guest rooms have private verandahs with
uninterrupted vistas of the languid river and the wildlife it
attracts as well as the crocodiles that have made the river
their home. The lodge contains a total of 62 guest rooms with
two twin beds (in suite with shower) It also has a pool with out
door lounge chairs, tables, umbrellas and fresh towels.
Communication is also available: telephone,
fax and radio. The lodge also offers laundry and pressing
services upon request. For those with kids, babysitting can be
arranged upon sufficient request.
Overlooking the outdoor swimming pool and
the meandering Uwaso Nyiro is the dining hall which serves
sumptuous international menu, buffets and barbecues alongside
authentic African dishes.
A full serviced bar Kiboko Bar, located in
the lodge is open from 11.30am till late in the evening. It
serves fresh juices, soft drinks, coffee, cocktail, wines,
spirits and beers. Seating capacity is 104. With just a day’s
advance notice, guests can be treated to a private moonlight
dinner in the bush or beside the languid river Uwaso Nyiro.
SAMBURU SOPA LODGE:
It is nestled on a hilltop in the middle of
the northern part of Samburu National Reserve. The Lodge
overlooks the Matthew ranges and on a clear day you can see Mt.
Kenya in the visible distant.
There are 60 double rooms designed as dual
adjacent cottages. They were designed in such a way that they
mimic traditional Samburu style architecture. All rooms have
ensuite showers, toilets and wash basins. The rooms also have
patio balconies where a client can relax and enjoy the views of
Matthew Ranges. In addition to that there is one room that
accommodates clients who are disabled.
A swimming pool and water holes are also
available to refreshment of oneself after long game drives or
just for relaxing during the hot days. Meals are served in
buffet style and waited services to clients. The restaurant is
open air and so it provides a great view of the landscape and of
the water hole.
The main bar, pool and the lounge area is
open form morning till late in the midnight.
SAROVA SHABA GAME LODGE:
Escape to one of Sarova Shaba 85 chaplets
located in a unique oasis set in the heart of ‘Born Free
country’ home of the colorful Samburu tribe and the game
conservationist Joy and George Adamson.
You can also opt to have dinner in the bush
around the fire in a Boma. Cool off in the large free form
swimming pool flowing around the lush gardens which gives the
place oasis feel in the middle of African Wilderness. Dining
options include exquisite tree level restaurant dining and
amazing bush dining as a lifetime experience amidst one of
natures most beautiful landscapes anywhere in the world.

SAMBURU INTEREPIDS:
It is a luxury–tented camp in the midst of
the rugged and savagely beautiful semi arid desert of the
Northern Kenya. Located in the Samburu National Reserve on the
banks of Uaso Nyiro River, the club offers unique game viewing
in its immediate surroundings. Located 345Km North of Nairobi,
the journey to the camp involves a 50 minute flight to Samburu
airstrip followed by a 20 minute drive through the reserve.
The luxurious Tented lodge has 27 modern
tents with private views of the river banks and their wildlife.
The spacious tents contain four poster bed, mahogany closets and
writing desks and en-suite bathrooms with showers. All public
area has palm-thatched and rose on stilts to catch off the
cooling river breeze off the river.
The main dinning room seats 60 and opens on
a river view terrace where guests enjoy buffet breakfasts and
lunches. Other facilities include a spacious lounge and bar,
conference room and shaded free-form swimming pool. They also
organize for Bush breakfast and dinners under the stars

SAMBURU LARSENS CAMP:
Larsen’s Camp was opened in 1987 and is set
in the lush lawns of Uaso Nyiro River, in Samburu National
Reserve.The river is the perfect stage for an endless pageant of
wildlife and of course many species of Birds.
All spacious tents are raised on wooden platforms nestled
between Acacia Trees and Doom Palms. All tents are equipped with
a private bathroom with running hot and cold water.
There are 17 spacious airy tents each named
after a famous bird. This is camping with style because of the
camps’ architectural work; hot showers giving a surprising
degree of comfort with the toweling gowns in the tents and
comfortable able safari chairs. The dining tent is open the
sides and faces the river. A first class dinner served elegantly
served by candlelight on tables set with silver and Larsen’s
china.
In the bar Eric Larsen’s old cabin trunks
and pith helmets and to the period flavor while you play
backgammon and chess on their original boards or just exchange
tales around the fire place.
It’s a wonderful venue for making new
friends and imbibing the essence of Africa as they did the
African Pioneers so many years ago. There is a tree house, an
excellent place to enjoy a sundowner as you look into the plains
as the animals walk by.
ELEPHANT BEDROOM LUXURY CAMP:
Set on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River
in Samburu National Reserve surrounded by the doum palms and
other beautiful indigenous trees and shrubs sits the Elephant
Bedroom Camp, small and exclusive camp of 12 luxury tents. All
furnished in rustic African style while offering all the comfort
expected of a luxury camp
Elephant Bedroom and lounge area offers
vibrant safari colors with original oil paintings , soft
intimate lighting designed to relax clients as they arrive from
their long game drives.
Dining at Elephant Bedroom culinary
experience with al-fresco breakfast, three course lunch and four
course candlelit gourmet dinner set either under the African sky
