NAIVASHA.
LAKE NAKURU LODGE:
It’s situated in the South East of
Lake Nakuru National Park just at the floors of the Great Rift
Valley. The lodge is two hour drive from Nairobi on road though
wonderful scenery or a 25 minute flight by charter plane to
local airstrip.
The accommodation at Lake Nakuru
can take up to 120 people in family rooms, cottages and suites.
Mutarakwa restaurant serving local and international cuisine,
stylish Mama Nikki bar, modern conference and meeting
facilities, outdoor swimming pool and laundry service.
The excellent cuisine includes
outside catering and bush barbecue depending on how you would
like to enjoy yourselves.
The Lodge also provides evening
entertainment which includes traditional dancers, and bonfires
SAROVA LION HILL:
It is situated in the heart of the
Great Rift Valley. The Lodge enjoys a panoramic view across the
lake and is beautifully landscaped with natural foliage and a
startling variety of flower gardens. Accommodation is in chalet
type bedrooms each with private bathroom and small patio and all
chalets face the lake. Other amenities include a swimming pool
and sauna.
The aptly named Flamingo Restaurant has both indoor and outdoor
dining areas where a wide variety of international and local
cuisines are served. The restaurant is located on the ground
floor overlooking the pool, lounge and the great expanse of the
Rift Valley.
Sarova Lion
Hill Lodge
serves buffet breakfast and lunch. Dinner is Table d'hôte with a
capacity of 200 people. The Rift Valley Bar provides the perfect
place to enjoy a cool drink and watch the sun set over the Lake.
For those who want to add a bit of spice to their dining,
experience a Bush Breakfast or Lunch. Dinner is sometimes served
outside within the Lodge premises. A sundowner drink with
delicacies is served to guests on the viewing deck at the lodge
or in the bush while they watch the golden afternoon a light
change to the oranges and reds of an African sunset.
MERICA HOTEL:
It is a new
hotel in the region ideally situated for peace. Accommodation is
in the specious double rooms with ensuite bathroom. The large
American style Ranch House surrounded by beautiful gardens has
become a have of peace for travel weary guests. An ideal spot
for family outings, the Resort also offers a Swimming pool,
tennis court and sauna.
The hotel has also increased its standard of facilities by
introducing a leisure and health club. Some of the amenities
include gym massage parlor, sauna, steam bath, Jacuzzi, a beauty
parlor, aerobic etc.
GREAT RIFT VALLEY AND GOLF RESORT:
The lodge is
perched on the side of Eburru Escarpment, overlooking the
sparkling waters of Lake Naivasha and is just one and a half
hour drive from Nairobi or thirty minutes flight. The lodge has
the newest and the most stunning golf course for championships
and so for the golf lovers this could be a nice gate away place
for you.
Great Rift Valley Lodge also offers a freeform swimming pool
amid tropical gardens, a gift shop with souvenirs and safari
essentials, a reliable
telephone, e-mail and Internet facilities.
The lodge can accommodate guests in 21 twin rooms and nine
double rooms. The rooms have private balconies that contain
large poster beds that are very luxurious furnishings. The rooms
also contain in-suite bathrooms with modern facilities and
interlinking rooms that convert into family rooms upon request.
Guests can enjoy game and bird walks with experienced
naturalists, boating and sailing,
fishing for Black Bass on Lake Naivasha,
horse riding, adventurers club for young travelers and mountain
biking on the grounds.
LAKE NAIVASHA SIMBA LODGE:
This is a very modern lodge that was opened in 2003. Lake
Naivasha Simba Lodge comprises of 70 double rooms all over
looking Lake Naivasha.
Each room has in-suite facilities, a private balcony and an
overhead fan. You can relax in the heated pool or play
tennis.Nature and bird walks take place in the lake shore and
the boat has 3 motor boats to use on the lake. The lodge has a
fully equipped gym with latest equipments and massage is also
provided.
LAKE NAIVASHA SOPA LODGE:
Naivasha Sopa, the lodge with a dramatic back drop is situated
on the shores of Lake Naivasha, second largest lake amongst the
fresh lakes at the Great Rift Valley.
Activities that can be arranged within the vicinities are; horse
riding, bird watching, fishing, watersports, cycling, lake trips
and nature trails.

CHUI LODGE:
In
the Great Rift Valley lies Kenya's Best Kept Secret "Chui
Lodge”. The lodge, set in the privately owned
Oserian Wildlife Game Sanctuary, is
an exclusive and exquisite paradise, nestled in a grove of
Euphorbia trees, overlooking a waterhole with the dramatic Mau
Escarpment as a backdrop.
Chui is crafted from simple bush
stone, local Acacia, Leleshwa and
Olive woods with a beautiful twisted Marula
roof. All the textiles in the Lodge are original batik artworks
done on site, whose warm shades enhance the earthy colors of the
ochre enriched walls. Magical bark cloth lampshades bathe the
African antiques and fascinating carvings on the pillars in
subtle light.
The five individual and well-spaced
cottages are built in the same fashion as the main building.
Each room is uniquely designed with en-suite bathrooms and a
delightful veranda with its own view. The marble basin tops,
roaring log fires, artistically decorated windows and
magnificent four posters olive wood
King sized beds ensure the essential touch of luxury. With only
five rooms available, guests can expect to receive excellent
service from staff and attention to detail like no other place

A short walk from the main building
is the delightful swimming pool with great views of the
waterhole and the Escarpment. Outstanding professionally trained
chefs deliver an exquisite array of cuisine to suit all tastes.
Chui Lodge also offers other
activities such as sundowners under a sky bursting with stars,
Champagne breakfasts / lunches by the lake, bush picnics deep
within the sanctuary, boating trips on Lake Naivasha, climbing,
swimming, bird watching and trips to oserian Farm; the largest
flower farm in the world.
CRATER LAKE:
The camp is built on the shores of green volcanic lake in the
bottom of an old volcanic crater. It is one of the most romantic
camp in Kenya. The camp is open for day visitors and casual
meals.
The camp comprises eight double tents, and two permanent family
bandas, all of which have bathrooms attached with hot and cold
showers, toilets and changing rooms. There is also a Honeymoon
suite which has a large bush pole bed and double Jacuzzi bath.
All rooms look out over the lake, which for most of the year
has Flamingos present. There is a fully stocked bar, dining
room, verandah and a small conference banda. The camp has Sky
television, and has full communications both telephone and
email.
Activities at the camp are centered round nature and wildlife.
There are guided nature walks in the Crater and night game
drives in the Sanctuary.
MALU FARM:
Nestled
in an
ancient cedar forest with sweeping views over the Great Rift
Valley and Lake Naivasha, Malu offers a magical encounter with
wildest Africa – just one and a half hours from the bustling
city of Nairobi.
On the 1700 acre private estate, you’ll have the freedom to walk
& ride through one of East Africa’s original highland forests,
where zebra, buffalo & leopard roam.
Six elegantly furnished cottages with feather duvets, four
poster beds, and warm fireplaces. One can choose a romantic
private cottage or a large family villa, all with cedar encased
tubs in en-suite bathrooms.
ELSAMERE:
Elsa
mere was the former home of the late Joy Adamson who, together
with her husband George, became world famous for their
pioneering conservation work and relationship with the lioness
Elsa, as told in her best selling book and subsequent film, BORN
FREE
The centre provides accommodation for 16 people in cottages set
in the gardens around the main house. Each cottage has a veranda
and faces towards the lake. The rooms are bright and attractive
and all have ensuite bathrooms. Guests may also choose to stay
in the main house in the Joy Adamson bedroom, which has easy
wheelchair access.
At Elsa mere, the day starts with a
hot breakfast, lunch is buffet style with plenty of outdoor
tables and chairs for alfresco dining. Dinner is hosted each
night.
Elsamere does not have a bar
facility. Guests are invited to bring their own alcohol.
Elsamere has a museum which
contains a small collection of Joy's paintings and artifacts.
Memorabilia from the film Born Free and a range of photos
documenting Joy and George's work with wildlife are also on
display. It also has a souvenir shop.
KIANGAZI HOUSE:
With panoramic views across the
Great Rift Valley & the shimmering waters of Lake Naivasha lies
Kiangazi House a 5 bedroom homestead with truly breathtaking
views of unspoilt Africa. It is ironic that “Kiangazi” is the
Swahili word meaning “hot and dry season”.
Below the House, guests can explore
the lake shore with its masses of water birds as well as game
drives.
Built in the old traditional style
of local stone & timber, Kiangazi House has three double ensuite
bedrooms within the main house & two further double ensuite
bedrooms just beyond the swimming pool. Homestead amenities
including a sitting room, dining room, bar & library is found
within the house & guests can also play tennis or relax by the
pool.
Cuisine, appetizing breakfasts &
lunches are often taken outside in the lush gardens or on the
expansive verandah. Sundowner and bush meals are also organized.
MALEWA RANCH HOUSE:
The original ‘settler’ home was a simple one room, iron sheet
house built on wooden stilts and still stands on the lawns of
the Malewa Ranch House. Later a two bedroom stone house was
built during the 1920’s. This old colonial farmhouse was part of
the infamous ‘Happy Valley Set’ so richly talked about in early
colonial dairies.
Malewa Ranch House has been
renovated with 5 very comfortable bedrooms and a very spacious
veranda with ample room for dining and lounging.
Malewa Ranch House is a secret
home, in a hidden valley that offers peace and tranquility and
time for reading and relaxation. Alternatively it can also be
the home of activities for game drives, walking with wildlife,
nature walks, bird watching, fly-fishing, rock climbing and
abseiling.
They offer this beautiful home on
an all-inclusive basis, including 3 meals a day and all drinks
(except champagne), served by our obliging staff.
Facilities: There are many
activities available at Malewa and Kigio. Game and bird walks,
horse riding, rock climbing, trout fishing, abseiling/repelling,
team building and challenge course.
