Kenya Family Safari - Kenya Family Safaris - Sweetaters Luxury Tented Camps
(6 Nights)

There can be no more exciting holiday for children than an African Safari. Parents and grandparents will enjoy the delight of their young families when they see the wild animals in their natural surroundings for the first time.

Children will be thrilled to see the animals which they have only read about in books or seen on television, and parents can help by teaching their children the importance of wildlife conservation.

The lodges we have chosen all have swimming pools for the times between game drives, as well as large areas of grounds where the children can expend their surplus energy.
This itinerary is our suggestion for an introductory family safari, but there are many other opportunities in other parks which children would enjoy and we would be delighted to quote on any selected itinerary or make suggestions for those particular requirements.

Day 1 Samburu (LD)

Drive through the beautiful agricultural countryside to Samburu National Reserve. A small, but delightful park Samburu is home to a wide variety of wildlife, which you will begin to see on your first game drive this afternoon. Overnight: Lodge / Camp (333 kms, 5 hrs)

Day 2 Samburu (BLD)

Morning and afternoon game drives with activities at the lodge, including swimming and watching the crocodile feedings each evening.
Overnight: Lodge / Camp

Day 3 Sweetwaters (BLD)

Drive to a private game sanctuary for an exciting night under canvas. A highlight is a visit to the chimpanzee sanctuary - where you can learn about their rehabilitation - and perhaps even "adopt' one. Everyone has a chance to get close to Morani, the "tame" rhino. This evening go on a game drive searching for the predators of the night.
Overnight: Lodge / Camp (185 kms, 31/2hrs)

Day 4 Lake Naivasha (BLD)

After breakfast drive round the Aberdare range of mountains, and perhaps visit a local school. Take time this afternoon for a boat cruise on the lake and a walk on Crescent Island, which is safe from predatory animals. Children can enjoy the pool and other games activities.
Overnight: Lodge / Camp (280 kms, 5V2 hrs)

Day 5 Masai Mara (BLD)

Drive along the Rift Valley to the Masai Mara, Kenya's leading National Reserve. Enjoy a game drive this afternoon, searching for "Simba" (The Lion King) and his friends.
Overnight: Lodge / Camp (250 kms, 5 hrs)

Day 6 Masai Mara (BLD)

Morning and afternoon game drives. This Reserve offers magnificent opportunities to view lion, elephant, buffalo, cheetah and leopard, as well as hippo, an abundance of plains game and beautiful birds.
Overnight: Lodge / Camp

Day 7 Nairobi (B)

The adventure ends today as you drive back to Nairobi. (280 kms, 6 hrs)

Meal Codes B=Breakfast, L=Lunch, D=Dinner
