KTS58:
Aberdare Country Club By Road
2 Days / 1 Night
Day 1
Depart from Nairobi in the early morning by bus and head towards
the Aberdares region.
Mount Kenya & The Aberdares Region
These two neighbouring areas are in the Central Highlands of Kenya
and have an amazing geography of contrast. The deep green of cultivated
farmland gives way to the purple-gray scrub grass of high ranches
where cattle, sheep and plains game graze. The mountain ranges are
covered with forests with hidden trout streams. In the centre is
the Mt. Kenya (5189m) - among the world's largest free-standing
volcanic mountains.
The equator crosses the northern slopes of the Mt. Kenya at 3350
metres. At the equator slight variations of altitude create enormous
changes in both climate and landscape causing diverse weather changes.
You can pass from the cool misty forest of the Aberdares to the
dry Laikipia Plateau scenery offers different choices to the
traveler
in terms of places to stay and activities. 185 kms to the Aberdares
from Nairobi, approximately 2 hours drive.
Aberdare Country Club
You will arrive in time for lunch at the Aberdare Country Club.
This Club offers a total of 46 bedrooms, all with fireplaces and
private bathrooms. Here you can enjoy an atmosphere of old world
charm, where the service is hospitable and the staff are very friendly.
The club has a 9 hole golf course, 2 tennis courts, a swimming pool
and horses for riding. The lawns are covered with beautiful tropical
trees and flowers and those who are keen on fishing can catch trout
in the nearby stream that flows from the snow- capped Mount Kenya.
46 Rooms and
Cottages. Aberdare Golf Course - 9 holes - par 36 2112 yards
Day 2
Wake up to the serenity of a countryside atmosphere. After
breakfast you will drive back to Nairobi or continue your safari.
